In doubles, COLOMBIANS are champions of the Open GNP Seguros. Colombian pair María Paulina Pérez and Yuliana Lizarazo are crowned champions by beating Kim Birell and Fer Contreras 🇲🇽 6-3, 7-5, 10-5

In Monterrey Open Singles, Canadian star Leylah Annie Fernandez defended her title against Colombian star Camila Osorio by (7-6, 4-6, 6-7). No. 2 seed, 19 years old, Fernandez won back-to-back Monterrey Open and got her 2nd title after this in her Tennis career.
2021 US Open runner-up star Fernandez won only 2 two WTA titles till February 2023and both are Monterrey Open WTA 250. On the other side, the Colombian finalist Camila Osorio only has one WTA title, till February 2023, which was her hometown 2021 WTA 250 tournament Copa Colsanitas in Colombia.
In the doubles championship, American pair Catherine Harrison and Sabrina Santamaria beat Chinese Xinyun Han and Russian Yana Sizikova. Winners clinched the title after one set down with 6-1, 5-7, 6-10. This was 3rd time that the American pair won the doubles title in 4 years (2022, 2021, and 2018). It was 1st WTA title for both Harrison and Santamaria.
A young player, World no. 13, the British Emma Raducanu could not take part in the tournament due to an injury in Mexico while playing round 32 of Abierto Akron Zapopan 2022. On the other side 30-year-old 2021 French Open finalist, Russian star Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova also withdrew due to her injury. She announced her decision on Twitter. She is a record holder and 4-time winner of this royal tournament.
