Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo Announce Engagement on Social Media
American tennis couple Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo have taken their relationship to the next level, announcing their engagement on social media.
The ATP and WTA players, respectively, have been dating for more than five years and shared the news via Instagram on Thursday.
Keys and Fratangelo have been a couple since 2017 and have occasionally teamed up to play mixed doubles. They played their first mixed doubles match together at the US Open in 2019.
In her Instagram post, Keys shared a photo of herself holding Fratangelo’s hand while showing off her engagement ring. She captioned the post with the word “forever” and a white heart emoji.
Fratangelo, who won the boys’ singles title at Roland Garros in 2011 and turned pro in 2012, reached his career-high singles ranking of No.99 in 2016. Meanwhile, Keys has won six WTA titles and peaked at No.7 in the singles rankings.
Fellow American tennis players including Jessica Pegula, Sloane Stephens, Frances Tiafoe, and Desirae Krawczyk were among the first to congratulate the couple on their engagement.
Keys and Fratangelo played together again at the 2022 US Open. Keys enjoyed a career-best ranking of seventh in the world and is a former US Open singles finalist, having played the championship match in 2017.
The engagement news has created a buzz among tennis fans who have been following the couple’s relationship. With the announcement, the couple has joined the ranks of other top tour players who are also in relationships, such as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina.
