The United Cup is a one-of-its-kind mixed-gender national hard-court tennis tournament that will hold its 2nd edition in 2024. The tournament will serve as an opener for the 2024 season and is a collaborative effort between the ATP and WTA.
The event will be held in Australia, across 2 major cities, and will feature 18 of the best-ranked countries from around the globe. It is the first-ever tennis event that is mixed-gendered and will offer ranking points.
Unite Cup 2024 Results
In the 2nd edition of the United Cup, Team Germany defeated Team Poland in the final by 4-0. Team Germany players –Alexander Zverev, Maximilian Marterer, Angelique Kerber, Tatjana Maria, Laura Siegemund– dominated throughout the tournament.
Germany staged a remarkable comeback to secure victory in the United Cup final against Poland in Sydney. Facing two championship points down, Alexander Zverev displayed resilience, winning the second-set tie-break against Hubert Hurkacz and eventually sealing a 6-7 (3), 7-6 (6), 6-4 triumph. The doubles decider witnessed Zverev and Laura Siegemund overcoming Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-4 victory. Earlier, Swiatek had dominated Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-0. Germany’s path to the final included a tense semi-final against Australia, highlighting their determination and skill in securing the United Cup title.
Before the final, Germany def hosted Australia in the semi-final with 2-1 and Greece in the Quarterfinals with 2-1.

United Cup 2023 Results
In 1st edition of the United Cup, Team USA defeated Team Italy in the final by 4-0. Team USA players – Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Desirae Krawcyxk, Alycia Parks Denis Kudla, and Hunter Reese- dominated throughout the tournament.
In the semi-final, Team USA defeated – tournament favorites- Team Poland 5-0. While in City Finals, Team USA outclassed Team Great Britain by 4-1. When we talked about group stages, Team USA defeated the Czech Republic by 4-1 and Germany by 5-0.
Team USA was only beaten 2 times throughout the tournament, the overall score was 22-2.
United Cup 2024 Prize Money
The United Cup will feature a $15 million prize fund. The Prize money will be split evenly among the WTA and ATP players, $7.5 mil each. The prize money will be distributed on an individual’s and their team’s performance. A participation fee will also be given.
United Cup Participation Fee
All players will receive a participation fee based on their ranking at the time of qualification. As there are ideally 4 players in a team, the participation fee will also differ based on their placement as the no. 1 position is always occupied by the highest ranking player, going down along with the positions.

WTA United Cup 2024 Points
The United Cup will be the first tournament of the 2024 season and will award WTA ranking points. Points earned depend on opponent ranking; upsets by low-ranked players yield more points in the scoring system.
The most United Cup ranking points that a player can win are only 500. Highly unlikely, that upsetting a top 10 player in every stage is challenging, especially if not every team has one. Check out the list given below for a full distribution of points won per ranking and stage.

WTA United Cup 2024 Dates
The United Cup will be held from 29 December 2023- 7 January 2024. The Group Stage will last for the first week of the 10-day event, with the City Finals set to take place on the 4th of January. This will be followed by a rest/ travel day, 2 days of semi-finals, and a final on the 7th to decide the champion country.
United Cup 2024 Schedule and Format
18 countries have been selected for the United Cup. 6 of these countries were selected based on their highest-ranked ATP players, another 6 based on their WTA players’ rankings, and the final 6 based on a combination of the 2.
The countries that will be participating are split into 6 groups of 3 countries each. From these 6 groups, 2 are designated to 1 of the 2 host cities; Perth or Sydney. A list of the groups and their countries by host city is given below.

Group countries face off; the one with the most wins advances to the Host City Finals. Each host city has 3 groups; 2 countries from each compete in the Final, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals. Three countries advance to the semi-final, and the 4th is the losing nation with the best match record.
In the Group Stage, each country plays two others in its group, totaling 5 matches across three sessions. Like Group A, the 3 sessions would be Poland vs Spain, Poland vs Brazil, and Spain vs Brazil. Those 5 matches can be broken down into 4 singles and a mixed doubles match.
Host cities will host simultaneous matches; for the semi-final and final rounds, Sydney will use Ken Rosewall Arena. Given below is a list of matches that will be held by date.
