The WTA German Open (also known as the Bett1 Open for sponsorship purposes) is a WTA 500 tournament. This event was founded in 1896-2008; 2021-present. It will be the 3rd edition this year as a WTA500 category.
The event will be held on the Outdoor grass court of Rot-Weiss Tennis Club, Berlin Germany. The event consists of 32 singles draws and 16 doubles draw. It will start on 17 June and end on 25 June 2023.

In the doubles title, Brazilian tennis player Luisa Stefani won the WTA Berlin women’s doubles title alongside France’s Caroline Garcia this Sunday (25). In the decision of the tournament, played on grass, the two passed the Czechs Marketa Vondrousova and Katerina Siniakova. The final score was 2 sets to 1, 4/6, 7/6 (10-8), and 10 to 4 [match tiebreak], in just over an hour and forty minutes of departure.

In the 2nd edition of Bett1Open, Tunisian star Ons Jabeur defeated Belinda Bencic from Switzerland. Ons got a victory by (6-3, 2-1). On the other side in doubles, Storm Sanders & Katerina Siniakova won the final battle against Alize Cornet & Jil Teichmann by (6-4, 6-3).

In 2021, stars like Elina Svitolina, Viktoria Azarenka, Aryna Sabalenka, Bianca Andreescu, Karolina Pliskova, Garbine Muguruza, Andrea Petkovic, and the German number 1 Angelique Kerber fought for the first title of the bett1open. On the high-quality grass courts, the stars were able to prepare themselves for the largest and most prestigious tournament in the world – Wimbledon.
In the 1st edition of 2021, Russian star Liudmila Samsonova defeated Belinda Bencic from Switzerland. Liudmila got a victory in the final set (1-6, 6-1, 6-3). On the other side in doubles, Belarusian pair Victoria Azarenka and Aryna Sabalenka won the final battle against Nicole Melichar of the USA and Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands.
BETT1OPEN (German Open) History and Winners
The German Open (currently known as the Grass Court Championships Berlin or bett1open) is a WTA Tour-affiliated professional tennis tournament for women. It was originally held in Hamburg, Germany, and played on outdoor clay courts from 1888 to 1989 and from 1991 to 2008, after which it was moved to Berlin.
The first edition was contested by 19 players, who were divided into three groups. The winners of the three groups met in a final to determine the champion. In 1991, the event was played on grass courts, and from 1988 to 1992 it was played on clay courts. The event has been classified as a Tier I tournament since 1988.
In 2019, it was announced that the event would return in 2020. However, the event was canceled in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it would be due to return in 2021. The new event is classified as a Premier-level tournament and serves as a warm-up event for the Wimbledon Open (The Championships), having switched its surface from clay to grass.

In 2023, the total prize money will be $780,637. The champion of the German Open singles will receive $120,150 and the doubles champions will get a cheque of $43,000. While in 2022 and 2021 prize money was $757,900 and $565,530 respectively.
