Copa Oster History and Previous Winners
History
Though the Copa Oster is a fairly young event, with only 7 previous editions, it has undergone many changes ever since the inaugural edition was held in 2007. Before this latest edition, the event was named the Copa Bionaire under the title sponsor Bionaire. It was first held in Bogata as a part of the ITF Circuit. Then the event would move to its permanent home Cali for all future editions. The third 2009 edition once again saw major changes as before, the event had been classified as a 25k event but it had been upgraded to a 50k tournament, making it the biggest ITF tennis event held in the city.
The upgrades didn’t stop there however as just a year later, the tournament’s rank once again rose to a 75k event. For that year, the event was the most significant ITF tournament in the whole of Latin America. The 5th and 6 editions were again, upgraded to 100k events with the latter giving bonus ranking points to WTA players. Its latest edition in 2013 saw the event evolving into the WTA Tour with yet again higher prize money of $125,000. Now 10 years later, the event makes its return.

Acquiring tickets for the event involves a very unorthodox procedure. We should mention that there is no way to purchase the tickets like in normal events. Instead, passes are given out for the whole event when an invoice contains purchases equal to or greater than $459,900 on Oster branded products from a physical transaction.
After verifying the amount of money spent, the customer will receive a voucher with which they can get 2 passes for the event. A sweepstake promotion is also taking place and the tickets cannot be exchanged for cash. Read more about tickets at https://www.ostercolombia.com/CopaOster#bonos
