Classified as a WTA 250 tournament, it takes place after the US Open and serves as the culminating women’s event of the China Series. Inaugurated in 2010, this tournament occupies a slot in the WTA schedule.

The event is a professional women’s tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It will be the 6th women’s edition of the Ningbo International Tennis Open, but the first since 2014 and the first as a WTA 250 tournament on the 2023 WTA Tour. Ningbo Open 2023 Results
Wild Card entry, Ons Jabeur defeated Diana Shnaider in straight sets in the final of the Ningbo Open. The Tunisian star won the fifth WTA title of her career in China. In the final Ons outclassed Diana in a straight set 6-2. 6-1.
While in the doubles, German Laura Siegemund and Russian Vera Zvonareva defeated Chinese pair Hanyu Guo and Jiang Xinyu in the final 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.
