WTA Dubai Tennis Championships also known as Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships or Dubai Open happened on Sunday, 19 February, and ended on Saturday, 25 February 2023. It consists of a WTA 1000 women’s event followed by the ATP 500 men’s tournament. This was the 23rd year of the WTA tournament. The event held on a hard surface, outdoors, at the Aviation Club Centre in Dubai.

Dubai Open 2023 Results
Czech Republican player Barbora Krejcikova won the WTA tournament in Dubai. In the final, she defeated world number one Iga Swiatek 6:4, 6:2. On her way through the tournament, she also defeated world number two Aryna Sabalenka and number three Jessica Pegula. It is the first title from the WTA 1000 tournament for the Czech Republic. Iga Swiatek, who came from an impressive sequence of victories. Until the final, Iga had lost only 9 games. After Championship Barbora moves to 16th in WTA Ranking from 30th place.

In the doubles championship, Veronika Kudermetova defend her title but this time partnered with Liudmila Samsonova (Elise Mertens in 2022). The winning pair defeated Taiwanese pair Latisha Chan and Chan Hao-ching in tie breaker 6-4, 7-6, 10-1. Throughout the event, the title holders haven’t lost a set.

Currently world no. 13, Jelena Ostapenko is the champion of the Dubai Tennis Championship. Latvian star won the final easily with straight sets (6-0, 6-4) against Russian Star Veronika Kudermetova. She also has a Rolland Garros Championship (French Grand Slam) back in 2017.

On the other side, The pair Veronika Kudermetova of Russia and Elise Mertens of Belgium won the final against pairing Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia and L.Kichenok of Ukraine. Champions crushed the opposition with straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
