Charleston Open 2023 Results
In Singles, Charleston Open 2023 saw a historic match as 2022 Finalists fought for the title again. But this time Ons Jabeur took revenge against Belinda Bencic and won the Charleton Open singles title. In the final Tunisian star, Ons wins the battle 7-6, 7-6. Arab Girl regained fourth place in the world thanks to his victory at the Charleston Open against Swiss star. This is 1st title of the 2023 season and 4th title of her career.

In the doubles championship, the Americans Danielle Collins and her compatriot Desire Krawczyk conquered the WTA 500 of Charleston Open, winning the first title in the year and in their career together. American Pair played the final against no 1 seed Giuliana and Olmos and Ena Shibahara and defeated them in a tie-breaker 0-6, 6-4, 14-12.

In 2022, the Singles champion is seeded no. 10 Belinda Bencic from Switzerland. Bencic played the final against seeded no. 4 Tunisian star Ons Jabeur. The title holder smashed the opposition in the first set (6-1), the second set went in favor of Jabeur (5-7) and after even in the final set Bencic grabbed a victory (6-1, 5-7, 6-4).
In Singles, Bencic is the champion but on another side in doubles, she couldn’t win the semifinal with her partner A.Kalinina from Ukraine. It was the first clay court WTA final for Bencic. With today’s singles title, B. Bencic is now moved up to No. 13 in the world, as her 2022 season continues to impress her fans and authorities.

However, the doubles championship was won by Andreja Klepac of Slovenia and Magda Linette of Poland. The winning pair had a tough battle in the final and won by (6-2, 4-6, 10-7) against Sania Mirza from India and Lucie Hradecka from the Czech Republic. It was Sania’s third final in Charleston Open from which she won her 1st two in 2011 and 2015 respectively.

The Credit One Charleston Open is an annual professional tennis tournament for women affiliated with the WTA Tour. It has been held every year since 1973 and is the oldest professional all-women’s tournament in America, with a purse of $888,636. The tournament is played on green clay courts at the newly renovated Credit One Stadium located in Charleston, South Carolina. From 1973 to 2000, it was held at the Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island before moving to Daniel Island in Charleston in 2001.
The title sponsor of the tournament has changed over the years, with Credit One Bank becoming the current sponsor in July 2021. The tournament was classified as a WTA Tier I event from 1990 to 2008, downgraded to a WTA Premier tournament in 2009, and became a WTA 500 tournament with the reorganization of the WTA’s schedule in 2021.
